Top Products for 2011

This was really difficult to choose so I have some honorable mentions too. Many have full reviews so just click on the name to find the link.

Foundation

This had to be CHANEL Vitalumiere aqua. I loved the finish, coverage and ease of application. Such a great foundation that I would recommend anyone to try. This product has rave reviews for a reason.

And honorable mention goes out to CHANEL Mat Lumiere. Another great foundation but this is more suited for oiler skin. This is better for days when you need more coverage and a longer lasting foundation. It’s not a full mat it’s a big of a satin finish and it gets a little dewier in the day. This is another go to product.

Blush

This is my second favorite category and I found myself constantly reaching for Illamasqua Lover. This peach matte blush would work with most looks and was a great everyday color. Also the pigmentation and quality is above and beyond. It’s pictured above on the left, Illamasqua Katie in the middle, and Dior Amber Diamond on the right.

An honorable mention goes out to MAC Warm Soul. My first mineralized product but not my last. This is a great blush that gives warmth and shimmer. It lasts well on my skin and gives me that gorgeous Victoria’s secret glow.

Highlighter

It could not be a favorite list without my trusty Dior Amber Diamond highlighter pictured 2 pictures above. This is the ultimate. It has a great color and isn’t too shimmery on the skin. It is quite expensive but I’ve been using it daily for over a year and still haven’t hit pan. I feel my skin looks glowy and radiant when I use this product and helps to give more dimension to my face. I don’t even want to try anymore highlighters this is all I need.

Lips

Again CHANEL has won this category. I have reached for Boy Rouge Coco Shine all year. Its lived in my purse and I have worn it through all seasons for all occasions. I adore the color,
formula and the shine.

Honorable mention goes to MAC Slimshine in Gentle Simmer. This peachy pink adds shine and gloss to the lips. It’s a color you don’t have to think about and can apply without a mirror. It’s moisturizing and compliments a peachy cheek. Another everyday staple in my collection.

Mascara

I wouldn’t survive without my Shiseido Mascara base. It’s a clear mascara that adds length a bt of volume but most of all keeps my curl. Pretty much any mascara I put on top of this mascara looks amazing. This was a product I can not live without.

I also had to include my favourite mascara L’Oreal Volumious Million Lashes. This is a mascara I have been using all year. The wand is plastic which I normally stay away from but seems to work well and give me amazing length. If I’m patient I also get volume and this doesn’t smudge. The picture above is only with the mascara. Add the mascara base as it’s even more impressive.

Nails

While I have loved my glittery polishes this year I always seems to reach for OPI Tickle My Francey. It makes my nails look polished and feminine. It’s work appropriate and goes with any outfit.

Hair

I have been in love with Moroccan oil. It’s light and not greasy and leaves such shine to my hair. I also like how it protects and finishes my hair.

Skin care

This year has been all about Skin care. I can proudly say almost every night this year I have washed off my makeup. This may seem normal to most but it’s quite an achievement for me and something I would only do occasionally. My cleanser of choice has been Philosophy Purity Made Simple. It’s a milky no fuss cleanser that does the job so well. It’s also perfect for my new Clarisonic Mia, which will be on my favorite list for next year I’m sure.

Another product I have used continually has been Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. It’s great for my oily skin but also moisturizes well. It leaves my skin fairly matte and works well under my foundation. It sinks in quickly and smells fresh. This has been a spring/ summer staple all year.

Fragrance

This has been a late purchase with a review to come soon. But ever since this came in my Beauty box aka Glossybox It has been a scent I’ve been reaching for constantly.
